Positive Thinking Tank.
Purpose-driven social impact consulting.

What if one of your greatest accomplishments was a better world?

Not instead of profit.
Not instead of growth.
Not instead of everything you've already built.

Alongside it.

I help companies, family offices, influencers & nonprofits to turn their platform, their dollars, and their audience’s attention into something that relieves human suffering.

You've already done the hard part. You built the platform. You earned the trust. You crossed the line from trying to make it to made it.

What comes next is the key question:

  • What do you actually want all of this to mean?

Because being successful is great.

But it’s not enough.

I work with businesses and people who care about our world.

I work side by side with companies, family offices, influencers & non-profits to support them in using their platform & reach as a genuine force for good... to help the homeless, the elderly, the sick, the hungry, the abused.

I offer consulting, PSA campaigns, social media messaging, actionable altruistic ideas & keynotes.

I help you to think differently, act boldly, and put your money where the world's hurting most.

If you’re ready to graduate from successful to significant…. you're in the right place.

Why You’ll Love Working With Positive Thinking Tank

Social Media Messaging

We help you grow, message, and move an audience that actually shows up. Karen personally built 1.3 million followers on Facebook, 125K on Instagram, 80K on Pinterest, and 147K subscribers on Substack. We know what gets read, shared, and acted on.

Workshops & Keynotes

We design workshops and keynotes that change how a room thinks, feels, and acts. For companies, conferences, family offices, and nonprofits. Topics: behavioral change, meaning, mortality awareness, the case for becoming a world-changing champion rather than merely successful.

PSA Consulting & Campaigns

Our founder is a CLIO winning Creative Director. We're skilled at brainstorming compelling content in whatever form a cause requires. A PSA.
A movement. A film or documentary partnership. A Substack series. A keynote tour. Whatever the cause actually requires.

Purpose-Driven Social Impact Consulting.

We help companies, family offices, influencers, and nonprofits use their reach as a genuine force for good. Campaigns, PSAs, altruism activism, cultural change, legacy work. Because success and significance aren't mutually exclusive.

Legacy Lens Thinking

We sit with founders, family principals, creators, and nonprofit leaders who want what they've built to outlive them in a particular way. We design and produce what that actually looks like.

Hello!

The Person Behind The Tank

Hi, I’m Karen Salmansohn. I am a leading behavioral change expert, CLIO Award-winning creative director, and bestselling author with 2 million books sold.

For over three decades I’ve been passionate about helping people and companies stop playing small through a wide variety of creative campaigns.

I’m different than a lot of other experts,
because I love to merge deep philosophical thinking, psychological research, and award-winning creativity.

I’m skilled at both understanding what makes people want to change… and sparking that urge for change.

And my favorite thing to spark: motivating companies and people to put their money where the world is hurting most.

Positive Thinking Tank loves to help good people do more good in the world.

In particular, we focus on 3 things:

  1. Do good outwardly. Develop campaigns, PSAs, movements and messaging that create real cultural change. Use your reach to shift how people think, feel. So you’re not just about making money or selling a product. You’re standing for something.

  2. Do good inwardly. Help employees find genuine meaning, purpose and fulfillment. Not via ping pong tables and free snacks. Real lasting wellbeing rooted in core values. The kind that actually reduces turnover, increases engagement and makes people genuinely glad to show up.

  3. Leave a lasting legacy. Help you think beyond next quarter to generational impact. What do you want to stand for? What do you want to leave behind? What kind of good do you want to make happen in the world just by existing?

JWT, Y&R, McCann Erickson, creating CLIO winning work

Years inside the rooms where the biggest brands decide what to say to the world. Trend forecasting with Faith Popcorn. Campaign creative at the agencies whose names you've heard. The CLIO is advertising's Oscar. I now bring those same tools to causes that deserve the firepower.

1.5 million social media followers

1.3 million on Facebook. 125K on Instagram. 80K on Pinterest. Built one post at a time, with no shortcuts and no purchased followers. I know what actually gets read, shared, and remembered. And I know how to teach a brand or a cause to do the same.

Featured in the New York Times, BusinessWeek, TIME, Fast Company, ELLE, the New Yorker and then some.

The kind of press list you build over decades, not weeks. When a journalist needs a smart, quotable expert on behavior, meaning, or happiness, my phone has been ringing since the 90s.

100K+ newsletter subscribers,
147K Substack subscribers

80K subscribers to The Stand Up Philosopher. 67K to Some Things Worth Sharing. People who open emails on purpose, not by accident. The kind of audience that clicks, replies, and shows up.

Three decades as a behavioral change expert

Most behavioral change experts come only from psychology. I came from creativity first, then earned the psychology. Which is why I can take the research studies no one is reading and turn them into an attention grabbing sentence, a viral campaign, or a moment that actually motivates someone to care about other humans.

Named the Croissan'wich.
Yes, that
Croissan'wich.

Burger King's breakfast sandwich. Coined in 1983. Still on the menu over four decades later. A single made-up word that outlasted the agencies, the recessions, and everyone who said it wouldn't catch on. That's the kind of staying power I aim for in every campaign I touch.

Columnist for Oprah, Psychology Today, and CNN.

Three of the most trusted names in psychology, wellness, and news, all asked me to write a regular column. Editors at places like that don't hand out trust easily. They hand it to writers who don't make a smart reader roll their eyes.
